My View about the Paramore split

I know this blog is kind of late to post but I've only just had time to write about it now plus Josh Farro's announcement of having a new band just seemed to heighten my feelings towards the issue. And yeah, I'm not a part of the band but I really loved Paramore since the beginning and the split just stirred something inside me. It made me feel all queasy inside and it's not good.

So here's the deal, I love Hayley Williams, or should I say loved her. I know it's not right to take sides but sometimes you just can't help it. When I first heard about the breakup, that the Farro brothers left the band, my heart just sunk. It was clearly not good news. The brothers contributed so much to the band since they were the first members of it, especially Josh who co-wrote many songs which were all brilliant.

Hayley along with Jeremy Davis and Taylor York, who are all still together continuing on with the band without the Farro brothers, released a statement about the issue last December 18, 2010. Unfortunately, the brothers didn't like the statement and, well, they released one too a couple of days later saying "Hayley released a statement without my permission."

Paramore's remaining members mentioned on their blog that they weren’t surprised that Josh and Zac decided to leave the band.
None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere.”

On the Josh and Zac’s statement, however, was quite more interesting. They opened up about the past and how things were when they weren’t onstage. They started at the very beginning when he and brother Zac wanted to form a band just for the fun of it and stuff like that. I’m not very good at summarizing stories but to make a long story short, Josh didn’t feel like they were a band but as backups of Hayley. Hayley would sign contracts without any of the members and that seemed rather odd since they were a band.

In reality, what started as natural somehow morphed into a manufactured product of a major label, riding on the coattails of 'Hayley’s dream.'”
Band breakups are tough especially for the fans who have stuck with them since the beginning. It's hard to see that old friends turn into (hopefully not) enemies.

Fame can really get the best of you, or rather, the worst. And I think that Hayley just got caught in the middle.

But in the end, I decided to stick by Josh and, since he was the one who brought all the members together, I think he had the right to say all of the things he mentioned on his blog.

This post wasn't entirely how I hoped it would turn out to. Although, if you want to read Josh and Zac's exit statement, click on here; and Hayley, Jeremy, and Taylor's here.
